Getting there...

I continue to grow more and more excited about this book as I get closer each day to the finish line. I have been able to make some headway in how to organize it and that is very satisfying. I still have plenty to write but most of it is journals and that is easier for me to "knock out". My deadline has always been July 17th and I still feel very confident that it will be complete by that day. From there, I will sending manuscripts to any agent or publishing house that might be interested in this type of book. At that point, I will be taking off the bulk of the blogs...you will simply have to wait and buy the book! :)
Currently, the front-runner for a tittle is:
"Still Not Dead! (insert picture of me happily shopping with oxygen tank) Lessons, Journals and Letters from My Life as a Patient"

What do you think?
Thanks again to all of you who check in on me and write such helpful and supportive comments! You have made such a difference in this process...You know who you are! :)

I must confess, I like the title "And You Thought YOU had it bad..." But that's just me.
I also am trying to digest the title as one of those lame well-world people. I'm thinking "would I pick up this book if I saw it on the shelf?" Of course, that implies that I actually read books these days, but for the sake of argument...
I almost want to see something in there about lifes lessons when your life is ending (or so you think). I don't know, I have to think about it. I'm sure you are waiting with baited breath for my thoughts, but since you asked. I'll have to shoot you an email. I think there is a catchier title. Okay the end of my two cents.

Good luck getting to your July 17 finish line. Keep plugging away.

I would guess that your agent or publisher will have the most say in the title, and that you mainly just need a title to get an agent's attention.

I still like Sick Girl Speaks.

I love alliteration, so I am fond of Sick Girl Speaks, too. But yes, the agent (to an extent) and the editor (to a huge extent) will have input on the title, too. But that will happen much further down the line; focus on the content and nail a book deal and then if you want to change/alter the title, there will be time to do that.

If you want/need any info on looking for agents/query letters, definitely e-mail me. It was a year ago this summer I got my agent so hopefully I've learned something worth passing along :)
